Do you want to know what Aikido is? Are you between 8 and 13 years old?
OK come to us and visit the childrenīs training on Tuesdays or Friday between 17.30 h and 19.00 h.
Since Aikido originates from the art of the Samurai we practice with stick and (wooden) sword. Our slogan is: We only train with each other and not against each other.
Aikido is a Japanese Budo-art in which the power of the opponent is eliminated by getting out of the way and not by hitting back. This means one doesnīt need to be tall and strong in order to move taller and stronger training partner.
In the “art of falling school” the possibility of getting out of the way is rehearsed rather than the possibility of stepping back. Trough practicing with other Aikidokas we learn to take care of each other and yet to know our own strength.
Because there are no competitions (we donīt need to compete with anybody else) we meet Aikido groups from other associations and arrange courses and festivals together. Yet we practice Aikido there we also make a lot of funny things around it.
We would be pleased if you came and joined us.
